Toys are an expense but a lot of times essential so that a Shiba Inu will use them to chew on instead of their owners slippers or furniture.

Also if the Shiba Inu's owners go on a trip or out of town a lot of times they will need to take their pets to a pet hotel. These can be costly but if the owners can't get anyone that they know to watch their dog it becomes a necessity.

Moreover a huge factor to consider when buying a Shiba Inu is if the gates that will keep the dog in the owners property are secure because if they're not the Shiba Inu will likely sneak out and disappear before their owner can even think twice. Shiba Inus are not the type of breed to stick around if they have any way of escaping. This characteristic is just part of the breed and is pretty much impossible to alleviate. Hence one should be prepared to make a sturdy fence when considering buying a Shiba Inu. Also don't be surprised if "other things" come up that require the Shiba Inu owner to open up their wallet.
